Impoving the Students Ability in Masterng Vocabulary Through Quartet Game at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 6 Watampone

The aim of this research is to investigasting whether or not Quartet game can
improve students vocabulary. The researcher used Pre-Experimental study as the
method of this research. The data of this research were collected by pre-test and post-
test. The researcher used written test as a tool of data collecting and the participants
of this research were 22 students of VIII E of SMPN 6 Watampone. The result of this
research showes that students’ pre-test average score is 36,14 and students’ post-test
average score is 70,91. It means that there is an improvement of students Vocabulary
after applying quartet game. In conclusion, Quartet Game can improve students’
vocabulary at the eighth grade of SMPN 6 Watampone.
A. Conclusion
Based on the result of analysis in the previous chapter, the researcher
concludes that by using quartet game in teaching vocabulary improvethe
students’ vocabulary achievement. It shows that the students’ mean score in
the post test is 70,91. And it is greater than the pre test which is 36.14. And
this provesthat the vocabulary of students improveafter giving treatment.
After the students play quartet game, the student’s vocabulary improve
significantly better than before taught, so teaching vocabulary through quartet
game improve students’ ability in mastering vocabulary at the grade of SMPN
6 Watampone.
B. Suggestion
There are some suggestions in relation with the implementation of
quartet game,hopefully, it can be useful for teachers to conduct quartet game
in their classroom and also for researchers who will conduct a study in the
same topic.
a. For students
1. The students have to improve their knowledge, especially in
enriching their vocabulary, from the other sources like English
story book, English magazine, etc.
2. The students have to practice their English in daily conversation
because it can help them enrich their vocabulary.
