The Implementation of Snake and Ladder Game in Learning Speaking On-Line Class at the Eighth Grade of MTSS Palattae

This study purposes to know the implementation of Snake and Ladder game in
learning speaking on-line class at the eighth grade of MTSS Palattae and also the
students‟ perception towards the implementation of the Snake and Ladder game in
learning speaking. The researcher chose MTSS Palattae as the place of doing research
where she takes students of the eighth grade as the samples. In doing this study, the
researcher also used qualitative research. The first research step done of the
researcher was Observation. Before giving questionnaire sheet to the students, the
researcher applied three meetings of Snake and Ladder game treatments. The result of
observation showed that the average student applies Snake and Ladder game with
enjoy, the students seem to give an active impression in the classroom and there is a
positive impact for students in online speaking learning as the final result. Then
applied interview to the four students as samples. The researcher could conclude that
the students get “good” perception related to the implementation of Snake and Ladder
game in learning speaking.
A. Conclusion
Based on the first research question related to the implementation of Snake
and Ladder game in learning speaking on-line class at the eighth grade of MTSS
Palattae, the final result of this research shows that from the observation result, the
average student applies Snake and Ladder game with enjoy, the students seem to give
an active impression in the classroom and there is a positive impact for students in
online speaking learning as the final result.
While based on the second research question, related t the students‟ perception
towards the implementation of the Snake and Ladder game in learning speaking can
be concluded to get “good” perception related to the implementation of Snake and
Ladder game in learning speaking.
B. Suggestion
Based on the conclusion above, the researcher put some suggestion as follows:
1. For Teacher
For the teachers, especially English teachers, is expected to make this
finding as one of the supporting aspects in English learning process, especially
in speaking learning process.
2. For Students
For students are expected to follow the english learning technique
delivered by the teacher well so hopefully it can maximize the learning
process of English speaking learning.
3. For Researcher
For the next researchers to prospective researches which can find more
effective learning technique to improve students‟ speaking skill and also can
make this research as a reference. In addition, the researcher also hopes that
prospective researchers can produce the better research work in the future.
