Increasing the Students Writting Ability through Round Table Technique at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 14 Bone

This study purposes to know the effectiveness of Round table technique to
increase the students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph at the tenth grade of
SMAN 14 Bone. The researcher chose SMAN 14 Bone as the researcher’s location
located in Tokaseng, Bone Regency, south Sulawesi. She took five students of the
tenth grade of SMAN 14 Bone in academic year 2020/2021 as the samples. In doing
this study applied pre-experimental research. The researcher used writing test by
giving some different themes to the students. The first treatment was given to the
students is pre-test, then the teacher gave treatments in 6 meetings and spends 60
minutes. After doing the treatement, the post-test gave the themes to students. The
result of pre-test and post-test were calculated to find out the significance different
and to measure whether the students’ writing ability improvement by using Round
Table technique. According to the result of test (pre-test and post-test) which had
been include writing test to the students, the research shows that there was an
improvement score from the pre-test to the post-test. The mean score of pre-test was
63,60 and improved to be 79,40 in post-test. The result of significance test also found
that the criteria H1 was accepted if the sig. (2-tailed) is 0,000
