Using Poster As A Media to Improve The Students Speaking Skill At The Eight Grade of Smpn 2 Cina

This thesis presented the research about ”Using Poster As Media to
Improve The Students Speaking Skill At The Eight Grade of SMPN 2 Cina . This
research used quantitative method which used pre-experimental research with one
group pre-test and post-test. The researcher used cluster sampling. The sample
consisted of 21 students from the VIII A of SMPN 2 Cina. The researcher gave
pre-test, treatments, and post-test. The data on the students‟ speaking mastery
were analyzed by using SPSS 25. The pre experimental research was given pre-
test, treatment and post-test using poster.
The data analysis showed that using poster improve the students speaking
skill. It can be seen from the comparison data between the mean score of post-test
was significantly higher than pre-test (85,9048>62,2857).after getting the
treartment.Thus,there is development in students speaking after using
poster.Sig.(2-tailed)in equal variances assumed is 0,000 and in equal variances not
assumed is 0,000. both of them are 62,2857. it means that
there is significant different between pre experimental one group in pre test and
post test (after giving the treatment).it indicates that (2-tailed)is 0,0000.005 H0 rejected.it is shows that there is
significant difference between the students‟ speaking skill after giving the
treatment by using poster.
Thus, it can be said that there is developing in students‟ speaking skill
achievement after applying using poster in the teaching speaking skill and using
poster can improve the students‟ speaking skill.
B. Suggestion
In order to improving the students‟ speaking skill, the researcher gives
suggestion to all readers, especially to English teacher and to the students as
follows
The English teacher should be apply an appropriate technique in teaching-
learning process that effectively can improving students‟ speaking skill. Thus,
using poster as a media is recommended. And for the English teacher should be
creative to manage the teaching material and the classroom and do not use
monotonous way in teaching speaking so that the students more interested and the
English teacher give an interesting and nonboring and understandable poster.and
for the students are expected to increase their interest and ability in learning
speaking skill. They can use poster to facilitate them in learning speaking because
this method gives many benefits as explained previously.
