An Analysis Of The Student's Error In Writing Recount Text Through Corretive Feedback Strategy (A Study At The Eleventh Grade Of SMAN 9 Bone

This study purposes to find out the most type of common errors made by the
eleventh grade students in grammatically in writing test of recount text at SMAN 9
Bone. It includes the common errors in using singular-plural, word form, verb tense,
add word, word order, spelling, punctuation, and article. Based on the purpose, the
research intends to answer this question, “What are the common grammatical errors
that the Students do in writing recount text through corrective feedback strategy at
eleventh grade of SMAN 9 Bone?” conducting this study, the researcher uses
descriptive analysis in form of qualitative. The first research step done of the
researcher is observation, by doing an observation. The researcher got information
about English lesson material and also teacher methods in teaching. The researcher
decided recount text as her material type and also preparing research. In doing
research, the researcher gave introduction first and also the sign type of corrective
feedback. And gave student a task to make a recount text about students experience
when they took holiday. In the next meeting, the researcher collected all of the
student’s paper and corrected them complete with corrective feedback sign, and then
gave the paper back to the students. Hopefully students are easy to understand their
errors. The finding of the study is that (1) the most of the students make errors in verb
tense verb tense with 31 errors or 46,27% and (2) the lowest error make on add word
and spelling with 2 errors or 2,99%, and totally there are sixty seven errors found in
students paper. According to the data result, the researcher concludes that the
common errors of students paper are “verb-tense” and there are also many errors do
not find in students paper.
A. Conclusion
Based on the data and the discussion on the previous chapter, the writer would
like to conclude that the types of errors commonly made by the students in their
English writing test are verb-tense (31 errors or 46,27%), Word Order (9 errors or
13,43%), Punctuation (8 errors or 11,94%), word form (6 errors or 8,96%), Singular-
plural (4 errors or 5,97%), add word and spelling (2 errors or 2,99%). Each of
students of the eleventh grade of SMAN 9 Bone made many errors on the type of
errors as mentioned above. The highest error is made on verb tense with 31 errors or
46,27% and the lowest error made on add word and spelling with 2 errors or 2,99%.
B. Suggestion
Based on the conclusion above, the researcher put some suggestions to the
teachers and students as follows:
1. For Teacher
However, there are some results of the research that require teacher to make
some adjustments and improvements:
a. Teaches them some materials that the students made errors in their writing.
b. Makes writing about recount text.
c. Has most writing done in class.
d. Discuss the problem of the students’ writing in class.
e. Easily to make students understand about their error by see the sign of
corrective feedback

There will be more lessons hopefully students can be got in applying in
daily learning especially English learning, some of them:
a. Must have more practice to use the right form of tense and to state the
appropriate tense in writing.
b. Discuss the problem in writing with their classmate and teacher.
c. Can know their errors easily by see the sign of corrective feedback.
