This script presents research about the Students’ Perception on Peer
Teaching at the Pre-service Teacher of English Study Program of IAIN Bone. The
research used qualitative method which used descriptive research. The sample
consisted of 15 students from English Study Program of IAIN Bone. The data on
the students’ perception were analyzed by using observation, interview, and
questionnaires. It aims to show the students’ perception on peer teaching at the
pre-service teacher and to know the advantage of peer teaching for the pre-service
teacher. The result of this research showed that the students have good perception
on peer teaching. It can be seen from good based on observations, interviews, and
questionnaires that have been obtained by the researcher where the students as the
preservice teacher of English study program have the good perception about peer
teaching. They like to teach by using peer teaching. They like the enjoyable
situation of the class on peer teaching. They can also keep the good
communication with students on peer teaching. The students consider that there
are many advatages of peer teaching such as it can increase the teaching
experience, the students are more spirited to teach, the students are more confident
to teach, it can increase student learning motivation, and it can train the
communication skills. So, it can be concluded that the students’ perception on peer
teaching at the pre-service teacher are known goo
A. Conclusion
Based on the description that has been presented in the previous
chapters, it can be concluded that the students' perception on peer teaching at
the preservice teacher of English study program of IAIN Bone, it was good
based on observations, interviews, and questionnaires that have been obtained
by the researcher where the students as the preservice teacher of English study
program have the good perception about peer teaching. They like to teach by
using peer teaching. They like the enjoyable situation of the class on peer
teaching. They can also keep the good communication with students on peer
teaching.
The students consider that there are many advatages of peer teaching
such as it can increase the teaching experience, the students are more spirited to
teach, the students are more confident to teach, it can increase student learning
motivation, and it can train the communication skills.
B. Suggestions
Without reducing respect for all those who are competent in educational
institutions, humble authors provide advice for the implementation of better
English Study program education in accordance with the ideals in IAIN Bone
implications include:
1. For the board of the foundation, head of university, employees and lecturers,
should discuss about providing facilities and infrastructure in the
microteaching laboratorium to support the smooth to practice English
teaching, espesially peer teaching.
2. For the preservice teachers council the application of teacher center learning
is good but still needs to be improved because in the application of teacher
center learning to teach the students in learning in need of patience and the
breadth of knowledge from a teacher so that Students can get a broad
knowledge as well. And use the time as efficient as possible in menstrasfer
science to students to cover the shortcomings/constraints faced.
3. For society, especially society around IAIN Bone, community participation
in education development have good and more enhanced again.
