Increasing Students Vocabulary Mastery through Helen Keller Movie as an Instructional Media at the Tenth Grade of MAN 2 Bone

This thesis presents about Increasing Students Vocabulary Mastery through
Helen Keller Movie as an Instructional Media at the Tenth Grade of MAN 2 Bone.
This research uses quantitative method. The researcher uses Helen Keller Movie as an
instructional media to increase students vocabulary mastery.
This thesis aims to increase students vocabulary mastery through Helen Keller
Movie as an instructional media in 20 students of X MIPA 1 of MAN 2 Bone. The
data was collected by using students test and data was analysed by SPSS 25
aplication. The result of the analysis shows that Helen Keller movies useful to
increase the students’ vocabulary mastery. It can be shown by the diffrences of the
mean score obtained by the students in the post-test (68,65) is greater than the mean
score of the students in pre-test (50,85). The researcher infers that the students’
vocabulary mastery increase through Helen Keller Movie.
A.Conclusions
Based on the data analysis and discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes the result of this research shows that studying vocabulary
mastery through Helen Keller Movie as an instructional media is one material that
can increase the students’ vocabulary mastery. Before applying Helen Keller Movie,
students vocabulary is still poor but it increase after applying Helen Keller Movie. It
can be proved by the mean score of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of
students’ pre-test is 50,85 and in post-test is 68,65. So, it can be said that there is
increasing in students’ vocabulary mastery after applying Helen Keller Movie.
B.Suggestions
In order to increasing Students’ Vocabulary Mastery the reseacher would like
to give suggestions to all readers as follows:
1. The English teacher should be creative to manage the teaching material and
the classroom and do not use monotonous way in teaching vocabulary so
that the students more interested in learning vocabulary. So, Helen Keller
movie is recommended.
2. The students of MAN 2 Bone especially at the tenth grade are expected to
increase their interest and ability in English, especially vocabulary mastery.
They can use Helen Keller Movie or others motivational movie.
3. For the other researchers it is suggested that other researcher may use the
research results as information or a reference to conduct the research with
another movie to increase the students’ vocabulary mastery.
