The use suggestopedia in teaching reading comprehension (An Experimental Study to The Students Of Grade Of MTs Al- Hidayah Bakke

This thesis presents research about the use seggestopedia in yteaching reading comprehension to the students of second grade of MTs Al-hidayah Bakke. The problem statemens are: (1) is yhe use suggestopedia effective in theaching reading comprehension? (2) what are the students responses in teaching reading comprehension by using suggestopedia? There were two variables, they were independent variable (thes use of suggestopedia) and variable (in theacing reading comprehension). In conducting the study, the writer used quantitative method because the writer conduted the data in from of numbers, and the way collected data by using pre-experimental design with pre-test and post-test and questioner. This was used to measure and interpret the data and also to know the interest of students. The purpose of this method was to carry out an experiment whether using suggestopedia is effective to the student’ reading comprehension or not.
After data was collect and the result of the test was obtained to prove the hypothesis and to establish the validity, the writer analyzed the value of t-observation. It was proved by the result of student’ test. The table showed that the mean scoreobtained by students in the post-test (59,25) was greater than the mean score of the student in pre-test (36,25).
The data of score of interest through questionaire indicated that 12 students got very high category wit the highest percentage was 60%, 8 students got moderate with the highest percentage was 40%. Suggestopedia method gave better result to improve the students reading comprehension. In other words, suggestopedia method was effective and interesting to use in teaching English reading.
A.Coclusion
Based on the result of analysis in the previous chapter, the writer cocludes that:
1.Suggestopedia method improve students’ reading skil. It was proved by the result of students’ test. The table showed that the mean score obtained by the students in the post-test was greater than the mean score of the students in pre test. Students’ reading reading skil improved after the treatment. So, it cloud be concluded that suggestopedia method was effective to improve students reading skill to the students of second grade of Mts Al-Hidayah Bakke.
2.Suggestopedia method was interesting to the students. The students’ interest in reading skill.
B.Suggestion
The writer gave suggest to all readers and especially for teacher that:
1.For the improvement of teaching of English. The writer suggest that the teacher of English especially reading should gave the good method in teacing English based on the students interest. Using debate suggestopedia method can improve students’ reading skill.
2.The teacher should know their students preference learning style when they conduct the teaching learning process, so learning style of students would be match to teaching style of teacher and teacher must ask the students always try and try to practice their English, and they had self confidence to express their idea.
