Increasing the students’ vocabulary through Word Sort strategy at the eighth grade of MTs Annurain Lonrae in academic year of 2017/2018

Vocabulary is a key to master languages and understand such as language.
This thesis presents research about increasing the students’ vocabulary through Word
Sort strategy at the eighth grade of MTs Annurain Lonrae in academic year of
2017/2018. The sample consists of 32 students of the eighth A grade of MTs
Annurain Lonrae.
This research uses quantitative method and pre-experimental design. The
researcher gets the students’ data by using a test namely vocabulary test to find out
the students’ vocabulary in English. The data are collected by using pre-test and post-
test, where as data obtained through test scores are analyzed by using SPSS
application.
The result shows that there is a significant improvement in students’
vocabulary after giving treatment. It is proved the table in chapter III. The table
indicates The mean score of students’ pre-test is 41,31 and in post-test is 68,25. It
shows that the mean score of post-test is higher than the mean score in pre-test
