Analyzing the Structure and Grammar of Korean Movie in English Subtitle Version at the Eight Semester of English Study Program of IAIN Bone

The objectives of this research is: to know the error structure and grammar
student find in Korean movie in English subtitle version at the eight Semester of
English Study Program of IAIN Bone.
This research uses qualitative method. The analysis used in the research is
qualitative analysis. The process of data analysis used by researcher to conduct this
research are: the researcher displays the data to be analyzed by 10 student from the
eight semester of English study program of IAIN Bone. The data is in the form of
Korean movie entitled Lunch Box that uses English subtitle version while observing
and finding any errors found in the subtitles after that the students analize the
structure and grammar errors the found.
The results of the research showed that the students found errors both in
structure and grammar in the subtitles of the movie they watched. They also felt
enjoyed during the screening of the movie and they argued that they also train their
visual and concentration to stay focused watching without forgetting their attention to
correct or find any errors found in the movie subtitles. Most of them argue that by
watching English subtitles, they are able to practice their grammar and structure
understanding and find and retrain their English vocabulary. after the respondents
watching the Korean movie titled “Lunch Box” is have a some of benefits. Some of
the benefits of watching movies are, relieving stress, recognizing various cultures,
developing imagination, giving positive messages, getting motivation and inspiration,
and much more. Currently the more popular movie is the movies of the country
ginseng (South Korea). Not just movies, but drama, music, fashion, until culinary was
popular. Other than that, from this movie the respondents can also know that Movie
or mini drama Lunch Box is a series of HALAL food promotion from K-food FAIR
2015. as a form of seriousness of Korea in providing certified HALAL products to
hook the Muslim market.
A. Conclusion
Conclusion based on the results of the analysis and discussion of the data in
the previous chapter, the researcher concluded that the eighth semester students from
the IAIN Bone English study program found several errors regarding structure and
grammatic when they watched a movie, after watching the movie most of the students
were able to group and analyze the errors they found. Students are also interested in
watching movies do not feel bored while watching it. The learning process by using
movie media makes them entertained, not bored and not monotonous for students.
Movies also can be a media of student knowledge. They can practice their visuals and
concentration. They know about the structure and grammar mistakes they get after
watching a movie. They actively express and acknowledge what they get from
watching the movie “Lunch Box”. Learning by using movie media to make people
happy and help them understand the lessons and be able to motivate them to learn.
B. Sugestion
Based on the above conclusions the researcher gives some suggestions as
follows:
1. Teachers or lecturers can exploit the positive effects of movie media that
provide many advantages in motivating students to be more active learning.
2. Students can use movie media in learning English to know more about
structure and grammar in English and make it more interesting.
3. Students can capture the content of the messages contained in the film
