Improving the Students’ Speaking Skill Through Know What To Know And Learn (KWL) Technique At the Eleventh Grade of MA Al – Nur Patangnga

This research is conducted about Improving The Students’ Speaking Skill
Through Know, What To Know And Learn (KWL) Technique at The Eleventh Grade
of Ma Al Nur Patangnga. In conducting this research the researcher used an pre-
experimental design to gether the data, while a quantitative method was used to
analyze them or whether there was improve or not to the subject, that was given
treatment. This research was taken by the eighth grade of MA Al-Nur Patangnga. The
result of the analysis shows that know, what to know and learn (KWL) technique is
useful to improving the students’ speaking skill. In pre-experimental can be shown by
the diffrences of the mean score obtained by the students in the post-test (83,76) is
greater than the mean score of the students in pre-test (58,13).
A. Conclusion
At the end of the research, the post-test was given to measure the

(KWL) Technique. The mean score of pre-test is 58,13 and the mean score of
post-test is 83,76. It showed that the mean score students’ of pre-test is higher that
the mean score students’ of post-test.
B. Suggestion
In view of the fact that KWL technique has been proved to be effective
in teaching to improve students’ speaking skill, the researcher would like to give
suggestions as follows:
1. For the teacher
The researcher suggests to the teachers should have the technique
when teaching in the classroom. So, the students have motivation to study in
the classroom. One of the techniques which can be applied is KWL technique.
2. For the students
The researcher recommends to the student to use KWL as a strategy
in learning English because there are many elements of language that can be
learnt such as vocabulary, speaking, reading and listening.
3. For the other researcher
It is suggested that other researcher may use the research results as
information or a reference to conduct the research with the similar topic in the
same design about the iimprove students speaking skill by using KWL
technique with different subject.
