The Effect Of Gender Difference Toward The Students’ Learning Style In Speaking Skill At The Eleventh Grade Of Sman 14 Bone

This study aims to describe the learning style of its relationship with gender and
speaking skills. The research sample was students of class XII IPS 2 at SMAN 14
Bone, totaling 30 students. Qualitative data in the form of learning styles obtained
from the answers to student questionnaires which were analyzed descriptively. to
determine comparisons students' learning styles and speaking skills by using the
speaking test. The results showed that there were three types of student learning
styles, namely visual, auditorial and kinesthetic. Visual learning style is more
dominant than with other learning styles. based on the speaking test analysis
shows that there is no significant relationship between male students' learning
styles and women with students' speaking skills.
A. Conclusion
Based on the results of data findings and discussion, it can be adjusted following:
1. Students learning styles in speaking skills at the eleventh grade of SMAN 14
Bone are three kinds of student learning styles on speaking skills. first, visual
learning style, the type of visual learning style is easier to remember picture
details, easy to remember what is seen. Second, auditory learning style, the
type of auditory learning style is easy to remember songs or stories, easy to
remember information by speaking aloud. Third, kinesthetic learning style,
the type of kinesthetic learning style, namely wanting to do directly
everything that is being taught or discussed and likes to move hands or use
body cues when speaking.
2. Gender differences influence students learning style in speaking skills at the
eleventh grade of SMAN 14 Bone is when students know, mastery of
vocabulary, and their preparation or participation when they want to speak,
then students will experience an increase in speaking skills. However, in
speaking skills learning style does not affect students' speaking skills.
B. Suggestion
Based on the research results above the suggestions that can be submitted in this
research is:
1. Teachers are expected to be able to apply different learning methods that vary
to suit each student's learning style different.
2. Teachers are expected to provide learning methods to students to hone
students' vocabulary knowledge so that their speaking skills can improve..
