Improving the Students’ Vocabulary Mastery By Using Quantum Teaching Method the Eighth Grade Students of MTs As’Adiyah No.39 Itterung

This research aims to find out the increase the students’ vocabulary through
Quantum Teaching Method at the eighth grade of MTs As’ Adiyah Itterung. The
problem statements of the research are 1) How can Quantum Teaching Method
improve the students’ vocabulary in terms of adjective 2) How can Quantum
Teaching Method improve the students’ vocabulary in terms of verb.
The researcher used A Class Action Research (CAR). The researcher had
conducted two cycles, where each cycle consists of five meetings. It employed
vocabulary test as instrument. The number subject of the research is 20 students in
class VIII. The researcher took data real from the school to know the students’
vocabulary.
The results of the student's vocabulary test in cycle 1 and cycle 2. Had
significantly different scores. There was a better increase of gains by students at the
end of action of second cycle. The research findings indicated that use of Quantum
Teaching Method could increase the students’ vocabulary and after evaluation in
cycles I and II, The result of this research finnally showed that the students’
vocabulary mastery score in cycle I were 43,90 and 77,85 for their cycle II. It is can
be stated that the students’ vocabulary mastery at the second year in class VIII of
MTs As’ Adiyah Itterung was in a level before the test in the first cycle and the
position of vocabulary mastery moved into high level after the test in the second
cycle.
A.Conclusions
The use of quantum teaching method was improved the
students’vocabulary mastery. The researcher was proved the data that the most
of students got fairly classification with mean score of students diagnostic test
was 43,90. Students’ achievement of vocabulary mastery after applying
quantum teaching method is significally improved their vocabulary mastery, it
was showed by the data that most of them got fairly good score with mean
score of students’ diagnostic test was 43.90, students’ cycle I was 74.30, and
than cycle II was 77.85 So, it can be concluded that the using quantum teaching
method can improve students’ vocabulary mastery at the eighth grade of MTs
As’Adiyah No.39 Itterung.
B. Suggestions
In view of fact that the using quantum teaching method in teaching
vocabulary mastery has been proved to be more effective. So, the researcher
would like to give some suggestion as follows:
1. For teacher:
a. The English teacher should be creative in managing the method
that should be integrated into classroom.
b. The English teacher should take more consideration in mastering
vocabulary mastery
c. The English teacher should apply quantum teaching method in
teaching vocabulary mastery.
d. The English teacher should take more time in teaching vocabulary
mastery.
2. For students:
a. The students of the eighth grade of MTs As’Adiyah No.39 Itterung
have to improve their abilities, skill in English, especially,
vocabulary mastery.
b. The students of the eighth grade of MTs As’Adiyah No.39 Itterung
have to manage their time to learning vocabulary.
3. For the other researcher, It is suggested that other researcher may use the
research results as information or a reference to conduct the research with
the similar topic in the same design to improve the students’ vocabulary
mastery with quantum teaching method.
