This thesis presents research about “Teaching Writing in Descriptive Text
by Using Visual Auditory Kinesthetic (VAK) at SMKN 1 Bone”. This reserach
was used to find out whether or not the VAK learning style can improve students’
Writing ability. This research used quantitative method. The researcher used cluster
sampling. The sample consisted of 20 students from the first class of the XI class
Fashion Designer of SMKN 1 Bone. The researcher gave pre test, treatments, and
post test by using VAK. The data on the students’ writing ability were analyzed by
using SPSS 21.
This result of this research showed that the students had good ability in
writing. It could be seen from the comparison data between the mean score of post
test was significantly higher than pre test 75.10 > 55.30. The data was analized by
using the significant was 0.00 < 0.005. It indicated that the alternative hypothesis (H1)
was accepted and of course the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. There was
significant difference between of students’ writing ability before and after giving the
treatment of VAK and classifying into good category.
A. Conclusion
Based on the data analysis and the discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes that:
Using visual auditory kinesthetic was proven to be more effective to
improving students’ writing ability of the XI Fashion Designer 1 of SMKN 1 Bone. It
can be seen from the comparison data between the mean score of post test was
significantly higher than pre test. The main score of students in pre test was 55.30.
After giving treatment by using VAK as a learning style, then the students got 75.10.
in post test, it could be concluded that post test was higher than pre test. The data was
analyzed by using the significant was 0,000
