Building up the Students’ English Pronunciation Through Reading Aloud At Mts. Baburrahman Waetuwo

This research is conducted about Building Up the Students’ English
Pronunciation Through Reading Aloud at Mts.Baburrahman Waetuwo. The purpose
of this research was to investigate building up the students’ English pronunciation
through reading aloud. The sample of this research was the students of eight grade
class in academic year 2017/2018 at Mts. Baburrahman Waetuwo. They were
selected by cluster sampling that consists of 15 students to study English.
In conducting this research the researcher used an experimental design to
gather the data, while a quantitative method was used to analyze them or which is
study to know whether there was improvement or not to the subjek, that was given
treatment. This research was taken by the English Class VII A at Mts. Baburrahman
Waetuwo.
The result of the analysis showed that descriptive text very useful to building
up the students’ English pronunciation through reading aloud. It can be shown by the
diffrences of the mean score obtained by the students in the post-test (83,80) is
greater than the mean score of the students in pre-test (54,33). The researcher infers
that the students’ pronunciation is build up through reading aloud.
A. Conclusion
Based on the data analysis and discussion in the previous chapter, the
researcher concludes that result of this research shows that studying pronunciation
ability through reading aloud is one material that can building up the students’
English pronunciation. It can be seen of the students of the eight grade of MTs.
Baburrahman Waetuwo that they have prior ability of pronunciation before applying
reading aloud is still low, the researcher proved the data that the most of students get
poor and good classification with mean score of students’ pre-test is (54,33). The
students’ pronunciation achievement applying reading aloud is significantly building
up their ability of pronunciation, it shows by the data that most of them get good
classification with mean score of students’ post-test is (83,80).
B. Suggestion
In view of fact that the application reading aloud teaching pronunciation
ability, has been proved in building up the students’ English pronunciation, the
researcher would like to give suggestions as follows:
1. For the teacher
a. The teacher should be creative to manage the material and the classroom
for teaching pronunciation ability such as applying reading aloud the
descriptive text to building up the students’ English pronunciation.
b. The teacher should give aware to the students that learning
pronunciation is one of ability that important in English language’
c. The English teacher should apply this activity as one of the ways to
building up the students’ English pronunciation to the English learning.
2. For the students:
a. The students of the eight grade of MTs. Baburrahman Waetuwo have to
building up their skill in English ability, especially pronunciation ability.
b. For the other researcher, it is suggested that other researcher may use the
research result as information or a reference to conduct the research with
the similar topic in the same design to building up the students’ English
pronunciation with different subject.
