The Use of Dominoes Game to Improve Students’ Vocabulary in Teaching English at Mts Al- JunaidiyyahBiru Bone

This research is aimed at finding out the significance of dominoes game in improving students’ vocabulary at the first grade of MTs Al-Junaidiyyah Biru Bone. The sample of this research are the students at the second grade (VIII C) of MTs Al-JunaidiyyahBiru Bone consist of 18 students. The researcher applies cluster sampling technique.This research employs one instrument based on the problem statement investigated, they are vocabulary test. Vocabulary test consists of pre-test is given to the students to know the students’ vocabulary before applying dominoes game and post-test is given to the students to know the students’ vocabulary ability after applying dominoes game. After several meetings, this research finds out the use of dominoes game significantly effective to develop the students’ vocabulary ability. The result of this research shows: (1) the mean score obtained by the students through pre-test is 39,5 and post-test is 64,83, (2) the t-test value is higher than the t-table (6.718>2.110). It means that there is a significant difference between the result of the students’ pre-test and post-test. Therefore, null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted.rnA.ConclusionrnDominoes game have some advantages, it can improve students’ vocabulary, and it provides the students with opportunities to practice their language skill. And based on the result of the analysis in the previous chapter, the writer can conclusions that dominoes game can improve students’ vocabulary at the first semester VIIIC MTs Al- Junadiyah Biru bone in academic 2017-2018. The table showed that the mean score for the students in the post test (64.83) and was greater the pre test (39,5). And this proves that the vocabulary of students improved after treatment.rnAfter the students play dominoes game the student's vocabulary increase significantly. It was supported by the t-test value was greater (6.718) than the table value (2.110). Alternative hypothesis (H1) saying that Dominoes Game Can Improve the student’s vocabulary.rnB.SuggestionrnThere are some suggestions in relation with the implementation of Dominoes game that hopefully can be useful for teachers who want to conduct Dominoes game in their classroom and also for researcher who will conduct a study in the same topic. rna.For students rnStudents must use the vocabulary they have learned so that the vocabulary is not lost and used in everyday, with game dominoes games students can practice not only at school but also at home, Domino games or home language games are highly recommended .rnb.For teacher rnThe English teacher has to consider the students‟ needs and interests for the teaching and learning. It is important for the teacher to improve the students vocabulary mastery. The teacher should create a good atmosphere in the classroom and motivate the students to learn the language, and the teacher can use dominoes game to improve students’ vocabulary.rnc.For researcherrnThe results of this research can be used by the other researcher as information and It is hoped that in the future it can be used as a source of data for further research and further research based on other factors, variables, different procedures, more sample quantities, different places, more appropriate designs.rnrnrnrnrn
