Watampone. The sample consists of 24 students of the eighth grade of SMPN 3
Watampone. This research used quantitative method and pre-experimental design.
The researcher gave pretest, treatment and posttest, where as data obtained through
test scores were analyzed by using mean score and t-test formula.
The result showed that there was a significant increasing in student
achievement after providing care. It was provided in the table in chapter IV. The table
indicated that the t-test was obtained by the students (23.5) greater than t-table
(2.069). The mean score of pre-test is 48.9 and post-test is 82.26. It means that H 0
was rejected and H 1 was accepted. And in data collection authors provide a
questionnaire consists of 20 questions that describe the characteristics of jumble
sentence which showed that 12 students (50%) choose the very high category and 12
students (50%) choose the high category. It means that students have a high interested
in this method.
Based on the data can be known that the teaching reading by using jumble
sentence is effective to improve the students’ reading and increase students' interest in
learning reading.

is 82,6 and the students’ achievement t-test was 23,5 and the students’
achievement t-table was 2.069.
2. The students’ in studying reading by applying jumble sentences is 12 students got
very high (50%). And 12 students’ got high (50%). There is not students get
