Developing the Students’ Reading Comprehension through Make a Match Technique at the Eighth Grade of SMP Negeri 3 Salomekko

This research is aimed at finding out the significant of developing the students’ reading comprehension through Make a Match Technique at the Eighth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Salomekko This research employed quantitative method because the researcher conducted the data in form of numbers. The way to collected data by used pre-experimental design with pre-test and post-test. The tests, pre test and post test were given to measure the students’ reading comprehension before and after treatment. It can be seen that the students’ prior knowledge of reading before applying Make a Match Technique was still low, it was proved the data that the most of students got poor and very poor score classification with mean score of students’ pre test was 39,8 but after the researcher applied Make a Match Technique in the classroom, the mean score of students’ post test have ascending, it was 71. The t-test value was higher than the value of t-table (12>2,640). It means that there is a significant difference between the result of the students’ pre test and post test. Therefore, null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and alternative hypothesis H1 is accepted. Based on the findings and conclusion in the preceding chapter, the researcher draws conclusion that after using Make a Match technique at SMP Negeri 3 Salomekko to develop the students’ reading comprehension.

Based on the findings and discussion in the preceding chapter, the researcher draws conclusion that after used Make a Match Technique at the eigth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Salomekko to develop the students’ reading comprehension. It can be seen that the students’ prior knowledge of reading before applied Make a Match Technique is still low, it is proved the data that the most of students got poor and very poor score classification with mean score of students’ pre test is 39,8 but after the researcher applied Make a Match Technique in the classroom, the mean score of students’ post test have ascending, it is 71.the t-test value is higher than the value of t-table (12>2,640). B.Suggestions
In view of fact that the application Make a Match Technique has been proved in building up the students’ reading comprehension, the researcher would like to give suggestions as follows:
1.For the teacher :
a.The teacher should be creative to manage material and more used technique the in the classroom for teaching reading such as applying Make a Match Technique for building up the students’ reading comprehension.
b.The English teacher should apply this activity as one of the ways to enhance students’ reading comprehension to the English learning.
2.For the students:
a.The students at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Salomekko have to enhance their ability and should be more active in reading text in order to have more knowledge.
