This thesis entitles “Using The Rote Learning Strategy to Help The
Students’ Memorizing in Learning Vocabulary of MTs.N 04 Sinjai”.
The focus of the study is the students’ memorizing of vocabulary. To
obtain the data, the researcher conducted a research at MTs.N 04 Sinjai. The
sample of this study was students of nineth grade which consist of one class. The
way to collect the data the researcher used pre-experimental design with pretest
and post-test. The tests, pre test and post test were given to measure the students’
memorizing of vocabulary before and after treatment.
After analyzing the result of test, it is found that there is significant
difference from the results of pre-test and post-test. The result of this study, the
researcher draws conclusion that after using Rote Learning strategy in to helping
the students’ memorizing of vocabulary it can be prove by the mean score of post
test is higher than the mean score in pre test (82,5000 > 74,4643). It also can be
prove by the sig.(2-tailed) of paire sample t test is 0,000 < 0,05. So, it say that
there is the Rote Learning strategy can help the students’ memorizing of
vocabulary.
A. Conclusion
Based on the findings and the data analyzing in the preceding chapter ,
the researcher tries to conclude the result of the study. Using the Rote
Learning (RL) strategy to help the students’ memorizing in learning
vocabulary of MTs.N 4 Sinjai is can help in increasing the students’
memorizing of vocabulary. It can be seen that the students’ prior knowledge
of vocabulary before applying Rote Learning strategy is still low, it is proved
the data that the most of students fairly good score classification with mean
score of students’ pre test is 75,3571 but after the researcher applies Rote
Learning in the classroom, the mean score of students’ post test have as
cending, it is 84,2857.
B. Suggestion
Based on the finding of this study, the researcher draws some suggestion
that hopefully could be beneficial for students, teacher and institution and
other researcher who are willing to use this strategy.
1. Students
In order to perform this strategy well, the students are asked
for their seriousness. This strategy emphasizes repetition that is
done in several times. So, the researcher hopes the students should
focus the activity that they asked for seriously.
2. Teacher and Institution
Teacher and school stake holder need to involve and help
their students to fulfil the school regulation. Based on the result of
students’ score of using Rote Learning (RL) strategy in
memorizing vocabulary, the researcher recommended that the
teacher and school institution to use this strategy in supporting the
activities to enrich students’ vocabulary by provide the facilities
rather than only giving them the list of vocabulary. For example,
the school can provide vocabulary list in some boards and place it
at strategies area in the school.
3. Researher
The researcher hopes that there will be other researchers
who have willing to conduct another research that related to this
study but in comprehensive method, such as using interview
section.
