An Analysis of Teacher’s Strategy in Teaching English at Teenth Grade SMA PGRI 1 Watampone

This thesis is about an analysis of teacher strategy’s in teaching english at SMA
PGRI 1 Watampone in Jl. Cokroaminoto, District of Tanete Riattang Barat of Bone
Regency, The purpose of this research to know what strategy the use of teacher at the
tenth grade of SMA PGRI 1 Watampone.
In this research, the researcher used a type of qualitative research that
recognizes the role of the subject (researcher) when observing facts, analyze and
interpret facts outside the self and the subject concerned. The instruments used in this
research are in-depth observation, in-depth interview and documentation. Sources of
data in this research is the teacher in SMA PGRI 1 Watampone, but the priority in
this research is students in tenth grade. The collected research data is then analyzed
by using qualitative descriptive analysis technique.
The results showed that the form of how teacher strategy in the class at the
tenth grade of SMA PGRI 1 Watampone, District of Tanete Riattang Barat of Bone
Regency, students activeness It is good based on observations and interviews that
have been obtained by the research where the teacher SMA PGRI 1 Watampone has
guided his students to learn active using various ways such as advising, approaching,
observing students, Learning by active students and focus on ongoing learning. How
to activate students in learning English is to do various strategies to attract students'
learning interest.
A. Conclusion
Based on the results described in previous chapters, it can be concluded that
based on observations and interviews in SMA 1 PGRI Watampone that have been
obtained by researchers where the teacher has guided their students to be more active
in learning by using strategies that have been prepared by the teacher. By using
learning strategies students can be more active in receiving the material given by the
teacher. How to overcome when students do not have interest in learning or at first
they feel bored with learning, based on the results of observations and interviews, the
teacher certainly has a variety of strategies in the process of learning so that it can
reduce students' boredom in the learning process. The teacher uses the media to be
changed into a manual so that students remain enthusiastic in receiving the material.
with varied strategies the teacher can easily attract students' learning interests.
besides, as a teacher must be professional to be able to adjust the situation in the
classroom. for example, giving the game in the classroom so that students can come
to life again in the process of learning log. in this case the teacher managed to keep
students active in learning with use the teacher strategies.
B. Implication
Without reducing respect for all those who are competent in educational
institutions, the humble writer gives suggestions for better implementation of SMA 1
PGRI High School on Cokroaminoto Street. Suggestions include:
a. For principals, caregivers and teachers, they must discuss the
provision of facilities and infrastructure to support the smooth learning
process.
b. For the teachers council, the strategy used in overcoming the
saturation of students in the learning process is good but still needs to
be improved again so that students can not feel bored again and more
enthusiastic in learning in order to create quality students.
