Teaching Conversational English Through Talking Stick as an Instructional Design at the Twelfth Grade of MA Amir-jannah

This thesis presents research about Teaching Conversational English Through Talking Stick as an Instructional Design at the Twelfth Grade of MA Amir Al-Jannah.
This research used qualitative method. The sample consisted of 5 students from MA Amir Al-Jannah.
This thesis is intended to find out the implementation about teaching conversational English through Talking Stick as an instructional design which is applied by the researcher. By implementing interview and giving the students the questionnaire, it is found that teaching conversational English through Talking Stick can put forward the existence of thinking skill and the existence of students’ involment where the all learning process is packaged in a pleasant condition. Therefore, the implementation of Talking Stick as an instructional design in teaching conversational design in the class lets the students to be involved actively.
A. Conclusions
a. Teaching conversational English through Talking Stick as an instructional design at the twelfth grade of MA Amir Al-Jannah is very enjoyable and attractive with the principle of Talking Stick. Teachers are able to maximise the students’ potency so they are involved in learning process actively. Beside, there are some lesson that the students can achive from the implementation of Talking Stick such as how to appreciate the other argumentation and how to listen the argumentation of their friends. In addition, Based on the calculation of questionnaire result regarding to the scale of students’ activeness in learning conversational English through Talking Stick can be found that the majority of students are classified to the category “ very good”. It implies the that students’ activeness in learning conversational English through Talking Stick as an instuructional design at the twelfth grade of MA Amir Al-Jannah can be classified into the category “very good”
B. Suggestions
Based on the calculation above, the researcher will give the suggestions pertaining to the implementation of learning process in the classroom esfecially for teching conversational English as follow:
1. The English teacher should have the technique when teaching in the classroom. So, the students have motivation to study in the classroom. One of the technique which can be applied is Talking Stick and then the English teacher should use English instruction when teaching in the classroom because it has a strong influnce to improve their English skill.
