Error Analysis on The Students’ Use of Demonstrative Pronoun at The Nine Years of SMPN 5 Palakka Academic Year 2015/2016

This thesis presents research about Error analysis on the students’ use of
Demonstrative pronoun at the Nine years of SMPN 5 Palakka. The problem statement
are What types of error made by the students in using Demonstrative Pronoun? And
What cause the students’ error in using demonstrative pronoun?
The population of this research was the students at Nine years of SMPN 5
Palakka, Consisting of two classes, namely class IXA consist of 20 students, IXB
consist of 19 students. The total number of population are 39 students. The researcher
were apply the purposive sampling technique. The researcher were take a study case
at the Nine years of SMPN 5 Pallakka taking sample one class specially for IXB.
In conducting the study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative method,
which is defined as a research in which the data presented in the form of written or
oral words that is descriptively analyzed. This method is used to analyze the problem
systematically, therefore it can easily understood and concluded.
Based on the analysis, kind of errors made by the students in using
Demonstrative Pronoun were; Omission of error (51,63%), addition (65,79%),
misinformation (70,50%) and ordering (59,58%). Meanwhile according to
respondent, factor causes the students’ error in using Demonstrative Pronoun were
carelessness (21,05%), first language (15,79%) and translation (63,16%). Therefore,
the teacher should give more attention and motivation to their students’ in using
Demonstrative Pronoun correctly.
A. Conclusion
Based on the result of data analysis in the previous chapter, the researcher
concludes that:
1. Kind of errors made by the students in using demonstrative pronoun were:
a. Omission of error (51,63%)
b. Addition (65,79%)
c. misinformation (70,50%)
d. Ordering (56,58%)
2. Factor causes the students’ error in using demonstrative pronoun were:
a. Carelessness (21,05%)
b. Firs Language (15,79%)
c. Translation (63,16%)
B. Suggestion
The researcher gives suggestion to all readers and especially for teacher or lecturer
that and students:
1. For the teachers
a. The teachers should give more practices of Demonstrative Pronoun so that the
students/ would understand with Demonstrative Pronoun.
b. They should pay more attention on students’ Demonstrative Pronoun when
teaching-learning process is going on.
c. They should know the Demonstrative Pronoun ability of each student.
d. They should always motivate the students to learn Demonstrative pronoun.
2. For the students
a. The students should be more seriously studying Demonstrative pronoun.
b. They should be familiar with using Demonstrative Pronoun in order to apply it
correctly.
c. They should practice Demonstrative Pronoun by themselves without teacher.
d. They should be more diligently studying Demonstrative Pronoun.
