Error Analysis towards the usage of Verb on students’ proposal writing of the eight semester students of English study program in STAIN Watampone

This research is carried out to describe the kinds of error on the use of verbs in writing proposal of the eight semester students of English Study Program in STAIN Watampone. Based on that the purpose, the writer intends to answer this question “what kinds of error verb appear in proposal writing?”
This research, the writer used descriptive analysis in form of qualitative and the objects were 10 writing proposals. The data were analyzed by using error analysis method. The error types were classified based on surface strategy taxonomy such as Omission, Addition, Misinformation and Misordering.
The findings of this research, the data in Omission error is the highest frequency. Then Misinformation frequency of error, Addition frequency of error and the lowest frequency isMisordering. While the data of the kinds of error verb in proposal writings are Present Forms as the highest frequency of error appeared in students’ proposal writing at the eight semesters of English study program in STAIN Watampone. Then Past Participle Form frequency of error, Past Form frequency of error and Present Participle Form is the lowest frequency of error.
A.Conclusion
Based on the analysis and the description of data in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that after analyzing through the research the writer got the data about sentence error in the proposal writings about usage of verb which are commonly made in writing using present form. The errors are omission, addition, misinformation and misordering.
From 16 proposal writings that was done seminar examination of 10 proposal writings as sample for this research. The data in Omission error is the highest frequency. Then Misinformation frequency of error, Addition frequency of error and the lowest frequency is Misordering. Now, the writer can find the answer of the question in problem statement that what kinds of verb error appear in the proposal writings. There are Present Forms as the highest frequency of error appeared in students’ proposal writing at the eight semesters of English study program in STAIN Watampone. Then Past Participle Form frequency of error, Past Form frequency of error and Present Participle Form is the lowest frequency of error.
B.Suggestion
Based on this research, it is suggested to the writers to pay attention more to usage of verb and have to be careful on writing, because verb is one of parts of speech which are one of basic in structure but it may not be considered too easy. For the lectures has to give attention more to students about on usage of verb clearly and detail. Additionally, the writer hopes to the next researcher can give information about the usage of grammatical errors on the students’ graduation paper or thesis. It requires that the writers have to avoid errors frequently. Do not be afraid to make mistake, because it is process to reach a success. Let us to learn from errors.
