The Student’s Ability in Reading Comprehension Through WH-Question at SMA Pesantren Putri AL- Munawwarah Panyili

This thesis presents about Students’ Ability in Reading Comprehension
Through WH-Question at SMA Pesantren Putri Al-Munawwarah Panyili.
This research is aimed to know students’ ability in reading comprehension
through WH-Question at SMA Pesantren Putri Al-Munawwarah Panyili. The
population of this research is the first grade of SMA Pesantren Putri Al-
Munawwarah Panyili which consist of 13 students. The instrument of this
research was a test of multiple choice used pre-test and post-test. WH-Question
test consist of pre-test and post-test to the students to know the students’ reading
comprehension. The researcher gave pre-test before doing treatment and gave
post-test to know their ability of students in reading comprehension before and
after using WH-Question. His research finds out the result of this research shown:
(1) the mean score obtained by the students through pre-test is 41,53 and post-test
is 78,07, (2) the t-test value is higher than the t-table (9,29 > 2. 179). It means that
H 0 is rejected and H 1 is accepted.
A. Conclusion
Based on the on the result of the research on the the previous chapter, the
researcher comes to concluds that WH-Question giving the positive effect on
the students‟ comprehension to generate ideas in reading. It can be see that the
students‟ prior knowledge of reading is still low, it is provide in the data that
most of the students mean score in the pre-test is 41,53 and it is know the
ability after giving clus WH-Question. The students‟ mean score in the post-
test is 78,07 and the students‟ comprehension t-test is 9,29 and the students‟
comprehension t-table is 2.179.
B. Suggestions
The researcher gives suggestion to all readers, as follows:
1. For The students, in improve their ability in comprehend reading text,
it‟s better to overcome their difficulties in reading comprehension.
2. The english teacher shoul be more creative to choose strategy in
teaching learning process especially in reading, therefore the students
will be more interested and enjoy to study English
