Describing Mother’s Tongue Dialect Toward Students English Speaking Ability at the Second Semester of English Study Program of STAIN Watampone

International language sometimes called universal language, a language intended to used by people of diffirent linguistic backgrounds to facilitate communicate among them and to reduce the misunderstandings and antagonism coused by language differences. An International language is usually intendeed not to suplant existing mother tongues but to play a secondary or auxiliary role as it others International communication, Specially in English speaking
In learning speaking skill, there are some items thatwe have to consider such as Pronunciation, Stressing, Popsound, Dialect and so on. One of the problem in speaking is dialect because if we speak English by using local dialect or mother’s tongue it will be heard strange.
Based on the data of analysis which has been found by the researcher, it can be said that the using of mother’s tongue in analysis data can be seen from accuracy as the focus of pronunciation. And there are some factors which cause students still use mother’s tongue, such as because of it is hard for students to say some words.
The using of mother’s tongue which is usually done by the speaker is caused of less of speaking practice which is done by the speaker about the using of correct stressing in some words when speaking.
A.Conclusion
After analysis the data based on the student’s speaking recorder with three themes, researcher concludes that describing mother’s tongue dialect toward English speaking ability. Based on the data of analysis, it can described in speaking activity, students sometimes use mother’s tongue dialect because they don’t understand about which have been good in using stressing. From the data analysis, there are only 3 students that use good stressing and three students also which are still less in using stressing.
B.Suggestion
From the result of this research, researcher suggest to the reader, especially for students to be more serious and study hard in learning speaking specially about pronunciation and using good stressing, because actually with study about pronunciation and stressing can decrease using mother’s tongue dialect.
For the teachers, it is a very good for teacher to teach students, but before they teach their students, the teacher has to give lesson about the using of correct word stressing.
For the next researchers, for qualitative research can describe about students mother’s tongue dialect toward English speaking ability. For quantitative research can find out about the influence of mother’s tongue dialect toward students’ speaking ability.
