This thesis presents research about Increasing The Students’ Speaking Ability Through Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) at The Eleventh Grade of SMAN 1 TelluSiattinge in Academic Year 2016/2017.
The problem statement is: does the use Examples Non-ExamplesTechnique (ENET) improve speaking ability in SMAN 1 TelluSiattinge?
There were two variables,they were independent variable (Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET)) and dependent variable (students’ speaking ability).
In conducting the study, the researcher used quantitative method because the researcher conducted the data in form of numbers. And the way collected data by using pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. This was used to measure and interpret the data. The purpose of this method was to carry out an experiment whether teaching speaking by using Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) is effective to the students’ speaking ability or not.
After data was collected and the result of the test was obtained to prove the hypothesis and to establish the validity, the researcher analyzed the value of t-observation. It was proved by the result of students’ test. The table showed that the mean score obtained by the students in the post-test (6.380) was greater than the mean score of the students in pre-test (3.408).
Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) gave better result to improve the students’ speaking ability.In other words, Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) was effective and interesting to use in teaching English speaking.
A.Conclusion
Based on the result of analysis in the previous chapter, the researcher concludes that:
Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) increased students’ speaking ability. It was proved by the result of students’ test. The table showed that the mean score obtained by the students in the posttest (6.380) was greater than the mean score of the students in pretest (3.408). Students’ speaking ability increased after the treatment. Therefore, it could be concluded that Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) was effective to increase students’ speaking ability to the students of eleventh grade science of SMAN 1 Tellu Siattinge.
B.Suggestion
The writer gives suggest to all readers and especially for teacher that:
1.For the improvement of the teaching of English. The researcher suggests that the teacher of English especially speaking should give the good method in teaching English based on the students’ interest. Through Examples Non-Examples Technique (ENET) can increase students’ speaking ability.
2.The teacher should know their students preference learning style when they conduct the teaching learning process, so learning style of students will be matched to teaching style of teacher and teacher must ask the students always try and try to practice their English, in order to, they are not afraid to speak and they have self confidence to express their idea.
