The Influence of TEFL Towards The Students’ Performance in Microteaching at English Study Program of STAIN Watampone

The objective of the research is to find out whether TEFL can influence
the students’ performance in microteaching or not. The researcher employed the
correlation method by using SPSS aplication. The population of the research is
English Study Program academic year 2013. The samples of the research consist
of 20 samples and the researcher used cluster randomly sampling. The instruments
of this research was taken by TEFL test, Microteaching test, and interview.
The result of the research indicates that TEFL and microteaching are
significant. It is proven by the value of the t-test (3,935) is greater that the t-table
(2,861). Based on finding and discussion of this research, the researcher draws a
conclussion that TEFL influences the students’ performance in microteaching at
English Study Program of STAIN Watampone.
Conclussion
Based on the problem statement, the result of data analysis shows that the
value t > t table (3,935 > 2,861), so H 1 is accepted, it means that TEFL can
influence the students‟ performance in microteaching. The researcher concludes
that the significance value of TEFL (X) is 0,001 ≤ 0,1, it means that TEFL
influence the students‟ performance in microteaching at English study program of
STAIN Watampone.
Suggestion
In the results of the research that TEFL actually affects students‟
performance in microteaching, but there are still some limitations in the study,
including the shord period of research so that researcher can only reach
respondents who are not too far away. In the interview method, the researcher
only chose two samples, they were TEFL lecturer and Microteaching lecturer
because the researcher assumed that both of the lecturers had methods or
techniques that could represent answer from other lecturers. However, for the next
researcher it is recommended to increase the number of samples and further
expand the material to be investigated concerning the issues of TEFL and
